Spanish Bean Soup


Ingredients
  • 1 lg. can garbanzo beans 
  • 3 med. potatoes, cubed 
  • 3 carrots, sliced 
  • 3/4 c. cabbage 
  • 1 c. chopped (shredded) ham 
  • 1 onion 
  • 1/2 bell pepper 
  • 2 cloves garlic 
  • 3 oz. tomato sauce 
  • 1/4 tsp. Bijol
  • 2 tbs. olive oil
  • Add sea salt to taste

 

Preparation

In olive oil, saute onion, garlic, pepper, and add tomato sauce. Pour into large soup pan, with ham; bring to a rolling boil.

Then add Bijol.

Reduce heat to simmer; add potatoes, carrots, and garbanzo beans. Add cabbage, cook until tender.

Serve with French bread.
